We appreciate the efforts of the following CCCBA members and non-attorney members of the community who have chosen to accept the challenge to exonerate the Port Chicago 50.
The Contra Costa County Bar Association (CCCBA) Port Chicago Task Force is comprised of attorneys who are members of the CCCBA as well as non-attorney members of the community with an interest in the Port Chicago 50. The task force was formed after the CCCBA DEI Committee presented a November 2021 program about the Port Chicago Disaster and the historical injustice of the mutiny trial.
The Port Chicago Task Force was formed with two goals:
Seek to raise awareness of this injustice in the legal and broader community and
Advocate for the setting aside of the mutiny convictions of the Port Chicago 50.
